Ok, so I've already posted today but... fuck it, it's my blog.
3 months ago, I was almost 100% sure that I wanted to goto university (after gap year, of course) and do Pharmacy. However, on return to grade 11 I've revoked my standing. Which leaves something to do with audio.
And why wouldn't I do something to do with audio? I love music, I love how it works, why it works, why people do it and one of the most important things to me is representing that sound, that
noise if you will; in the best way possible.
I honestly could not think of anything better to do then to engineer a composition that gets a message across, and to master that so that no quality, no meaning, no 'heart' is lost within the process.
Give me some reference quality monitors, a couple of beasty LCD displays, Pro-Tools, a mixing desk longer then I am high and more pre-amps/amps/DACs then I could poke a stick at and I'll probably never complain again.
Hoo-wee, what could be better then a career where I get to listen to music, help create music, I can justify buying pre-amps/amps/DAC/headphones/monitors/cables with price tags that would make Richard Branson squemish.
What's that you say: 'How much can a bloody cable be?'
Iiiiintroducing the
Virtual Dynamics Genisis 1.1 Power Cable, retailing at a mere US$13,416.00
Translating to roughly TWENTY THOUSAND AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS for a 5foot long power cable, a power cable that does the same job as the one that connects your computer to the wall.
BTW, here's some candy-

So ultimately, this blog was to convince me to pursue some sort of career within the Audio path.
Rewarding work, I get the toys I want, I get to enjoy music.
Do you reckon
